FURTHER FUNDING FOR SOCIAL HOUSING UNITS DEMONSTRATES LABOUR’S COMMITMENT TO LONG TERM HOUSING PROVISION
26 January 2016
Brendan Ryan. Labour Party TD for Dublin Fingal, has welcomed further funding from the Department of Environment of €3,300,000 so that 27 social housing units at Racecourse Commons, Lusk can begin to be built.
Brendan Ryan “This further demonstrates Labour’s commitment to long term social housing provision. Labour in Government has begun to build Local Authority houses again, with Fingal seeing projects begin in Swords, Lusk, Balrothery, Balbriggan and Ballyboughal in 2015. This funding is most welcome and much needed. If Fianna Fáil hadn’t abandoned direct social housing builds when they were in Government, we wouldn’t have the housing crisis we have now. The only way out of this crisis is to build houses. I welcome this announcement and will continue to push for more funding for Fingal”
