MINISTER CALMS FEARS OVER US PRECLEARANCE TROUBLES AT DUBLIN AIRPORT

20 July 2016

Brendan Ryan, Labour Party TD for Dublin Fingal, asked the Minister for Transport to comment on the potential risk to pre-clearance at Dublin Airport as the projected growth in passenger troubles is realised.

Ryan “I know of concerns that pre-clearance at Dublin Airport may be at risk as passenger numbers increase and stretch the existing resources. The Minister confirmed to me that the Department are planning for future growth and any additional resources that may be needed. The Department is engaging with the Department of Homeland Security’s Custom and Border Control office on the need for and the terms of governing enhanced levels of service at preclearance facilities in Dublin and in deed Shannon Airports”.
